Day 4 - Movie World

We decided to drive to the beach for some shots before we went Movie World. Afterall, u cun say that you have been to Gold Coast w/o seeing the sand and sea. Right? So happily, we managed to find a lot along the Esplanade and jumped out of the vehicle for some shots. W/i 10 minutes we were back but found a parking fine. The attendant was still around and we explained that we were not aware of the need to pay fee. Well, he was kind of apologetic but told us he could not take back the ticket as it was issued. So I decided to write in to the City Council to appeal. Else have to pay AUS$35. Doreen suggested I paid and moved on, but I would like to try my luck. Afterall it is not fair to ignorant tourists like us.

We reached Movie World at about noon, as it was about 20km from Surfers and we were not too sure of the road (Doreen drove, while I navigated). Movie World (www.movieworld.com.au) was not as big as I thot, and I believed it is smaller than Hong Kong Disneyland. Of course, as per norm, we did not go for any of the rides, as both of us did not have the stomach. But we did go for the Shrek 4D adventure - sort of a movie theatre experience coupled with vibrating chair and spraying mists. Xin Yi also had a kiddy train ride.

But the main draw would definitely be seeing all the WB characters like Bugs and Tweety. We first saw Bugs at the Loony Tune Village, and the rest during the parade at 2.30pm. Both of us were initially thinking of going for the Police Academy Stunt Show an hour later but seeing Xin Yi was rather sleepy and she did not have a gd lunch, we decided that we would leave once we got shots of the others. Fortunately, we saw Bugs, Tweey, Daffy and Silvester and took those wonderful shots you see here. Satisifed, we drove back to hotel at about 4pm.

While Xin Yi had her nap, both of us went jalan around towards Cavill Avenue and bough abit of stuff. Thereafter it was dinner at that nearby Gold Coast Sharkfin and Seafod Restaurant, where we had our first lunch. The dinner was not worth the monies. What can you expect when ""ginger-onion fried fish" turned out to have more brocolli instead. Anyway, this would be the last meal here as we would be at Brisbane tmr. So the night was busy with packing bags. As per past few nights, Xin Yi had gotten use to sleeping at 11+pm. Well, we slept shortly later too.
