Day 7 - Gog home

Nothing planned for the day, as we need to leave hotel at 12.30. After b/f, it was the final packing. Three new stuff toys -JupJup (of Hi-5!), small Tweety and a small dolphin to bring home. I did take another walk in the city enroute to buy lunch for all from a shop at Queen's Street Mall. Brisbane is a nice place... too bad we din have enuf time to see more. Perhaps we would be back again.

But the airport is sth bad which we would remember. Somehow the security staff checking our hand luggage were not very friendly. First the Check-in staff din tell us to prepare a departure card, and we had to fill it at Customs. This caused some delay. Then, the security staff took away the stroller from my father, made some phone call, when obviously there was already . Then, another fellow insisted that an umbrella from my mother's bag needed to be taken out and scanned separately. Then, there is this lady which asked Doreen to take out the belt from her jeans... more delay, for sth which we found it unnecsaary. Why din Changi and HK needed to do these? Is it the Aussies being racist against us? Or was it that they required such measures? Or was it because we were slighly late for boarding check that they had to resort to such attitude? I am disgusted.

Xin Yi felt asleep shortly after the plane took off and slept for more than two hours. The return trip was more favourable one, and less tiring for sure. I even caught two movies. She had a lot of fun "flying"" over the seats to Ye-Ye and Nai-Nai who were sitting behind. The cabin crew were also quite nice and kind to our many requests for hot water, kid activity books and cuppa noodles. Cun imagine how QF staff would be receptive to the frequent requests. From now on, I would try to fly SQ for long haul trips for sure. Any flight below 2hr is bearable. Btw, Cathay Pacific crew were also quite nice to families with young children - from our experience to Taipei (04/06) and Hong Kong (10/06).

Well, as a whole, the trip was good. Dinno when we would be gog this far again. Now, the credit card bills are coming in one by one. Time to face reality... :( holidays come with a price, a hefty one :P
