Changi Point Board Walk - 27Dec Wed

My 2nd consecutive trip to visit the green lungs of this small country. Again, I have read and seen a lot of images of the Changi Point Board Walk. So, decided to give it a go despite the long journey and the unpredictable weather. I was fortunate that it was cloudy, no rain drops till it was noon - by then i was already in town having lunch with the missus at Swensen's Funan (she was working that day).

Changi Point had certainly changed a lot. The old chalets were still there, though under a different mgt. Then it was under the Civil Service. Dad used to book chalets once every year/two years during school holidays, and I believe we had been there at least five six times, as far as I can remember. All different venues, except Chalet L - twice. The last was 1990 when my JC class had BBQ there.

Changi Village had changed quite a bit since i last visit during the uni days. Gone were the old jetty which was replaced with a much more organised one. Despite the changes, the rustic atmosphere is still there. Think no where else in this country could beat this place. The hawker centre still served good food, and this particular stall - Int'l Nasi Lemak seemed very popular. Perhaps I would give it a try on my next visit - dunno when. Maybe we would stay at the newly renovated Changi Village Hotel.

Note - The entire walk consists of several sections. I started from the Changi Beach Club, walking in from Cranwell near Hendon Camp and came off from the Changi Village. NParks are in the midst of putting the info in their website (as told by the Park Manager via email), but you could download a PDF file on Changi from the URA website - http://www.ura.gov.sg/publications/walking_maps/#east
