Where was the crowd at Ikea Alexandra?

On Sat noon, the family went to the Ikea store near AV as we would like to see if there would be some nice and small potted plants for the daughter to cultivate her interest in gardening, i mean she likes to water the plant at my parents' place, so why not get one at home? ( btw, the plant was not doing too well.. i hope it is not our fault... but a colleague ever told me that plants at Ikea dun seem to last).

Anyway, the most interesting observation was the crowd, or lack of it, at the AV store. I would say the number of people were only a third of the usual Saturday shoppers. Finding tables at the cafe which was used to be extremely tough was a breeze relatively. But the bets of it was payment. Dun have to QUEUE!!!

I guess the opening of the megastore at Tampines was a blessing for pple like us who would not go there as obviously it was much further. But the novelty may need soon, and the crowd may come back again. But it would be interesting to see how Ikano would continue to maintain the two outlets w/o operating at a loss, unless selling Swedish meatballs was much more profitable than I would have thot.
