Letter to ST
Got a SMS from my ex-colleague Chun Wah yesterday while I was at Macau saying that he had read my article on ST.
Well, I wrote a letter to them after reading some articles last Sat, particularly abt this man who wrote about his "married with no kids" life and the merits of not having children. I was quite upset when he compared his well-behaved pets to someone's spoilt brats. So I wrote in response, kind of rebutting with some sacartic remarks. It got published but was severely doctored and the essense was no longer there. For the benefit of those who wrote my contribution on yesterday's ST Life section, I would show you the original and the eventual one. I know they reserve the rights to edit, but by trimming those key phrases/lines, the original intent was not there. I guess the one by that author would have suffered the same fate.
The original letter....

The published letter....

Lesson learnt - dun ever write in to ST again.
