Mooncake Fest

I think we made a record this year on mooncakes. Having the least in these few years. Health and economic reasons. Really paying this much monies to eat sth processed from sugar din make much sense. Remember, i have to take good care of my BMI.

But we splurged on the H-Z ice cream mooncakes. I could not believe when missus told me she paid a discounted price of near $60 for 4. But i was reminded by my colleague (whom i shared my shock) that "you think what, Haagen Daaz wah ..." Missus had good intention for buying these, cos' she din want the daughter to be left out from fun when we enjoyed the "real" mooncakes tonight since she was more receptive towards ice-cream.. But surprise, surprise, she din even touch... so how are we feeling? Disappointed, but it was an understatement.

But apart from eating mooncakes to celebrate the day, we brought her downstairs bringing along our lanterns but surprisingly there were hardly any kids. Certainly not near my parents' block. Seems like lanterns are fast becoming an ancient tradition.. kids seem to be more interested with lighting candles and fireworks instead.

Well, we din go to Clarke Quay on last Friday. Went to Grains for dinner (http://www.grains.com.sg/) and thereafter joined in the fun along The Central. They got stores selling festive items and few guitar-playing singers (non-chinese) singing "pang-yao". Lanterns were not fanstatic, and the daughter seemed more interested with the vendors selling bubbles.
So, instead of getting her to carry the lanterns like most kids, missus was doing it on her behalf, while she kept blowing her soapy bubbles!
Likewise, the spending on lanterns and mooncakes all went bubbles too... Target not met.
