Thanks to my parents for offering their help to look after the daughter on Sunday, Missus and myself spent a day at the Changi Village and stayed at the Hotel for the night. We walked along the board walk during the evening before heading for the hawker centre and joined the long queue at the Int'l Nasi Lemak store, and the rice was well supplemented by the stays from another. Coconut milk, deep fried chicken wings, satays - these are somethings that would give as much as calories, fats and chlestrols which you could imagine. What's more these were followed by the carrot cake on the next morning! Of course, there were beer and tidbits in between! I wonder how much jogging could strike these off.

I always enjoy Changi Village. Having been there for the first time while I was still in primary school when my dad got the civil service chalets. It was a good getaway. Many trees, old and slightly rundown flats where shops still sell items which you could hardly find nowadays, even at the neighbourhood stores. We bought some toys for the daughter, and a pair of rain boots, all at discounted prices w/o even bargaining.
Unfortunately the long journey from home means that i could not here that often. It would be an ideal 3D/2N hols packaged with cycling at Palau Ubin (incl Chek Jawa). Maybe when the daughter is older, and of course i would need to convince the missus.
