Singapore Bay Run
The joke this time round was that i only woke up 15minutes before the race start time, i.e. 7.30am. So, in double quick time, i had teeth brushed, cleaned my oily scalp, and had a glass of HL before i sprinted to fetch a cab. Too bad, i arrived there about 7.40am, but fortunately for me, the race was so popular, that the less eager runners were still forming up before the race banner, slowly pacing themselves... so it wasn't that bad that i would be running alone... The organiser changed the route this time round, and we took a turn after the NTUC building instead of Prince Edwards Road, and it din take us all the way to Fort Road, but instead we trooped down along the ECP exit at Suntec city, so i was not able to spend as much time as i did admiring the skyline.
The race was a remarkable feat for me, cos i pscyhoed myself that i must not stop running, and start walking and i succeeded! So rightfully the race should end in a high note, but it was not. Though the finishing point was at St Andrew's Road, in front of the City Hall, the goodie bag was pathetic, and worse was the collection point. Due to the perennial rain, the Padang was muddy, and my Asics Cumulus became a victim, rather i was the victim... spending my Tuesday night scrubbing the mud/soil/sand off my prized running shoes. What an anti-climax!
