Conquering the Southern Ridges
Why conquering? No big deal wah ...
But not if you were wearing office wear! I did one of the craziest thing on Monday. After some briefing at Singapore Poly (work-related) in the late afternoon, i took a short train trip followed by an equally short bus ride to Alexandra road for my quest on the unfinished Southern Ridge Trail. I had wanted to do it earlier, but just could not find the opportunity. You could tell that this desire was so strong that my inappropriate attire (s/s shirt/pants/leather shoes) did not stop me, but there was some regret at the end of it - i was perspering all over, and wondered if those pple that Vivo City who saw me was thinking if this fellow had come out from a pool...
Anyway back to this walk, i started off thinking the best piece was the Forest Walk but ended up admiring the Henderson Wave instead. Perhaps being in such a rush and lousy footwear did somehow dampen my mood, esp the climb up to Telok Blangah Park was killing me - so much so that i wonder if it would ever end!

The Henderson Wave offered very nice view - you could see the surrounding flats, Tower A, and many others, and it was so windy. Shiok feeling, really. But as i went further, the feet began to ache, and it was worst for my descent along Marang Trail - all thanks to the rocky surface.

Fortunately, i did this walk alone. I dun think the missus would be very excited if i have dragged along and made her complete it. It would have been a torture for her. But perhaps a more relaxing pace than my 50min feat would bring more joy than pain. IF with the daughter, i would imagine piggyback her for most of the walk.... and i would likely have difficulty walking on the following day.

at the end point - Harbour Front MRT station
