Long Service Award

I have served six yr with the organisation leow.
Last Friday I received the 5 yr long service award from our DCE on a ceremony at Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Of course there was buffet after the main event. So makan and makan.
I guess i have to thank the new policy implemented by our organisation this year in recognition of even staff who have served relatively short term, like myself. Maybe I have to thank the 4-in-1 award which the organisation is gog for. We are gog for the SQA - a "in" thing for organisation, especially the public sector bodies. This week, the assessors would be visiting our premises for the assessment and some of us might be called up for the interview with these 7 esteem individiuals.
For the past weeks, I have been kept very busy with the preparation w/i the office, cos i have been tasked as one of the two Activists who are entrusted with the responsibilities to make sure everyone is primed tip-top. Thus, doing many mock interviews... i tell you, i can now recite our Vision, Mission, Strategic Thrusts and Share Values with no problem at all.
Work has been piling... my boss thinks i have not been delegating enuf. But having a new team on board I would need more time to pass my stuff over before taking on more higher level things - it seems that the transition expected is shorter than what i envisaged. So, struggling in between. But still i would stick to my direction as i have built a reputation as a hands-on engineer and for that i gain respect from my junior staff, and being a manager now (actually, AM) it does not mean that i could do a quick exit.
Maybe a change of hairstyle would bring in some luck :)
