Retreat @ T3

My missus had asked why i have not been updating the blog. i said this was due to facebook.
it is a much simpler way of updating the things happening around you without going spending minutes, sometimes hours, writing.

of course, i could not keep this idling for too long, having just realised it was more than 3months ago that i have written sth here. So, i thought i could say a few words of our recent retreat at Changi Airport T3.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We wanted very much to take a break from the usual routine, but travelling elsewhere is not appropriate at this point, not least with the son still relatively young. The daughter wanted very much to stay in a hotel, so i started scouting around, and a major criterion is that the hotel must be new, and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport came to my mind... it is not even two years old yet.
And of course, being at Changi Airport works well for us, not that we care of the shopping but the F&B options are plenty spanning between T2 and T3. Little did i realised until we were there that the food court at basement 2 of T3 operates 24hours and it was truly packed when i met Robin briefly there for a coffee at one plus in the morning. Food is a major consideration because finding the limited mix for the daughter could be a challenge. (that is a separate story if i ever go to that)
Okay, let's talk about the wonderful rooms. We got a Suite and a Deluxe for 4D/2N. The Suite is to give us ample space, and especially for the daughter to run around, since she enjoys spending time in the room then exploring around. New rooms means new furnishing and we were not disappointed with whatever we see there. The kids also like it there too. Of course why not, large tub, cooling air-con - but perhaps too cold, so much so that yours truly and the son developed cold/cough/fever upon returning 8(
Too bad we din enjoy the pool, which i found the whole place very relaxing due to its trees and garden settings.
Throughout the stay, we walked around T2 and T3, did some shopping, had dinner with my parents on one night and with my in-laws the other. On any free time, i would bring the son jalan around T3 departure hall and viewing gallery, seeing aeroplane. He is definitely too young to
appreciate and know what's happening, but i believe the sight and sound which differed from the usual happenings were new too him and you could tell he was very curious, esp with this giant ball at T3 which would "open" at every hours, spinned and played nice music.
Oh yah, we also spent a morning at Changi Village, a side trip. Too bad we din have time to queue for nasi lemak. I would definitely go back on another day. Rustic Changi is a good place to get away, the other being the Southern Ridges.
photos of Changi Village would be posted another day 8)
