De-stress

Ever since the office was shifted to the old Tekka building, i had made several trips to The Central at Clarke Quay for lunch, the most recent being today, when i bought sth from Subway and sat on the steps facing the river. Not exactly the most comfortable way to enjoy a meal, but i enjoyed the breeze, and the river. Singapore River is dull and not spectacular, but i guess the activities and the facade around the areas made it a vibrant area, which we are rather deprived of. The water and the colours will somehow cheer one up. The Central is quite ordinary for a shopping complex but i kind of like the foyer near the jap ice-cream store, perhaps i make it as my next lunch spots, of course that would draw some glares cos there were no one sitting there except for a family of three having ice-cream.

Back to uni-days i had this habit of studying in the library, sometimes alone. Sth which i always liked to do was to have a cup of coffee after dinner outside Library One, now known as LWN Library. There were others as well, enjoying a breather before putting on your sweater/jacket and off to more books in the library. Sometimes i would move slightly away and stopped somewhere before LT1 where there were this view facing the SAF Live Firing area. What drew me there was because of the rare glimpse of vegetation.

Rare moments of space and solitude, albeit brief, are sth which i always appreciate. Of course it would be perfect if i could afford the time and do a spin in MacRitchie, or Southern Ridges for a compromise.

Charge and dis-charge, and the cycles go on and on.... But i guess i would need more encouragement and booster when the appraisals are returned. Who knows I may have to resort to climbing Fort Canning next time for a breather ... some fresh air, provided i could bear with the stairs.
