借花献佛

Today i heard another ridiculous story of a person who spends others' monies. In this case, monies from a sibling.

Instead of re-paying the sum which he had borrowed when he is in a better financial state, he used an innovative way - but spending lavishingly on the sibling's child. Of course, the child is happy and that, to his definition, is a form of re-payment.

Wah ... like that also can?

Though perceived to come from his pocket, the monies could have been returned. And to the eyes of the nephew/niece, he is the good uncle while dad/mum is the not-so-guy (cos presents would never be as good).

This is what i called 借花献佛.
