Project Muffin

Saturday was the first one after many weeks that Xin Yi did not need to attend school as we did not continue with GUG programme for her after three terms, i.e. 24 weeks, minus three - the GE; when we were at Oz; and when she was sick two Sat ago. Thinking that she may be bored (we din go out cos'she was still recovering from flu), we thought of baking muffins. So we did.
I bought this blueberry muffin ready-mix from Betty Crocker (www.bettycrocker.com) from Cold Storage. With two eggs, some milk and cocking oil, we mixed all the ingredients in this large bowl, and Xin Yi got some fun stirring the mix. She immediately recalled seeing Elmo doing that in the Sesame's Street web-site (www.sesameworkshop.org/sesamestreet/stories/flash.php?contentId=9526256). As the mix was too much for our 6-cup mould, we filled with six and put them in our microwave oven. Unfortunately, we got the instructions wrong, and set the temperature too high. In the end, the crust turned black. But apart from that, the muffins were actually quite nice. For the second round, we learnt our lessons, and with closer supervision, it was almost perfect.
Once we got the ball rolling, I am sure we would try out something else in weeks to come.
