So what is CHOLINE?

According to Wikipedia, Choline is a nutrient, essential for cardiovascular and brain function, and for cellular membrane composition and repair.

This is the newly added ingredient in Enfagrow which shoots the price from what used to be $38 sth to $43 per 1.8kg packing when I saw it at Cold Storage this evening. The 900g pack increases from $21.30 to $24.00. All along I have been getting the 1.8kg tin from Carrefour which sells at only $36 sth and it is even cheaper if you consider the Everyday Card rebate.

Actually this is not news as Sandy has forewarned me as she has seen the new "improved" formula and had even sent me a photo of it. But I din take it too seriously enuf to stock up the old stock as I saw the old ones at Carrefour, thinking they still have stock. But of late these stocks had run out at Carrefour and Sheng Siong. So, time to face reality.

We have been trying to get Xin Yi to switch to Friso at the recommendation of Chris, as Megan also had difficulty on her bowel habit when she was drinking Enfa. Since her switch to Friso, it has improved tremendously. However, the transition for Xin Yi was tough (for us!) as she does not like the vanilla taste in Friso. But it is rather to find one w/o vanilla! Neslac, Pediasure and many others all contained traces of it. So, we are now mixing her milk with half of each - hoping by doing that the "not-so-encouraging" ingredients in Enfa would be cut back.

Until the total switch, I just have to be content with this hefty price... or maybe I should minimise the damage (to my wallet) but scouting in the neighbouring provision shops and ransacked all its original Enfagrow.
