Biking incident

The daughter was very excited with her new bicycle which she received from her grandparents, i.e. my dad and mum, for her b'day. This morning, i brought her to the jogging cum cycling track downstairs at her request. I was rather reluctant as she just did four rounds on the day before, and moreover the sun would be quite unbearable in the late morning. Anyway, to keep her from staying at home and thus inevitably disturbing the missus who was preparing lunch, i went with her.

In fact this was her second day with the new bike. But she seemed to get the hang from it. I mentioned she did four rounds on Saturday. Initially it was quite a struggle but she did not seem to gain momentum and was struggling for the first round. However, gradually she managed to get a good grip and covered four rounds. On a side note, she got quite a number of mosquito bites, which prompted me wondering if the patch was really effective in repelling these bloody insects. As it was her first exercise in as many weeks, it din take too long for her to go zzzz...

In case you might be wondering, the incident did not occur while she was cycling. The Sunday session only ended with herself completing three rounds, she would have done a few more if not because i told her to pack up for lunch. The daughter then wanted to run along the track, but i refused. But since she was in the mood, i suggested that she did some sprints at the badminton court instead. Unfortunately, it was a bad suggestion, as she fell on her knees, eventually with her cheek landed on the court after less than a minute. It must be quite painful as she burst our in tears and cried for a long while. But this resumed when we reached home, when she recounted the incident to the missus.

We applied cream on her, but the bruise on her cheek would be there for a few days. Hopefully, it would not be prominent under the camera, as we would definitely be taking some family shots during CNY. Most important, i hope this episode would not mar/dampen her interest in running, for i would be short of one potential running kaki in the future.
