A cert and a Watch ... and you are now in MR!

I had officially been informed that i had completed my NS liability and i would be placed in MINDEF Reserve, i.e. MR. Actually the NS thing had almost stopped for me since i was downgraded to Pes C2 due to my worn knee cartilage which "condemned" (not that i mind) me to be medically unfit to perform military duties, such as IPPT and In-Camp-Training. So, this notification was some sort of "finale" for me.

So, this afternoon after bringing the daughter to her excursion at Hay's Diaries in Lim Chu Kang (which was near my NS camp) i went to Tower B at Depot Road to collect my watch and certificate. To my surprise, there was a "ceremony" - at least that was stated in the few notices in the premises as i walked towards Level 22. Wow, the pple seem to be rather professional, and they actually got an Army Major to shake my hand and conveyed MINDEF's congratulations and wishes to me! I din expect that, and i kid of sympathise with this chap for standing there, in between sending sms, to repeat the same whole thing as each individual walked into the premises. I believe there should be some roster for the next three days. I would be bored with it.

Now, i need not call the MINDEF Notification Centre whenever i make an o/s trip. After more than ten over years of service and liability, it has finally come to an end.

For tomorrow, I would make sure that i would wear this new Hamiliton watch to work, just to show off a bit ... that this chap here has nothing to do with NS - anymore!
