Treasure Hunt .... for Friso 3

There was a slight emergency situation for the past two weeks.

The daughter's milk powder, Friso 3, was running low, and i could not find any on the shelves of supermarkets. Had tried Cold Storage (at both United Sq and Novena Sq), Fairprice (@ Square 2) and Mustafa! My father tried the Fairprice at Rochor too, but to no avail.

Rang up the Friso hotline and was told that a strike in Europe had caused a delay, and that they had some stocks of 400g tins but provided i have to make a trip to their warehouse in Jurong! (not possible).

This morning i called again... they said big container shipment arriving over the weekend, and i could find them in supermarkets earliest in one week time... still a long wait.

In fact, this was the second time. I wonder if these are good reasons for me to switch to another (cheaper) alternative.

Fortunately, my "fear" was short-lived after a trip to HDB Hub for lunch this afternoon. I saw there were plenty of the 900g Stage 3 formula still on the shelves. Without hestitation, this kia-su father grabbed four tins immediately and went home straight to show the daughter these priced items.

But I am sure, she could not appreciate the kind of anxiety and relief i had experienced.

ps : for those who are less versed with milk powder, it comes in stages 1 to 4, with the smallest for newborn and largest for older kids.
