Why? Work too streeed is itl? (judging from the hair quotient)
Let me recount two incidents:
1. I met a former hall mate, to be exact he graduated two years earlier, in the train on way back on Thursday afternoon. The first thing he asked "what happened to your hair?" "Work is too stressful?""No, it was heredity" ... Well, having not met for many years, the current state of my mane does present a rude shock to many.
2. It happened on Wednesday too, when I visited a contractor whom i know from my previous jobs. Could tell it from his expression though he din say it. We had not met for five years at least.
~~~~~~~~~~
For the record, my life was not stressful (though tiring at times), work din pose a headache (so far though i would hope the pay is better), and the main reason was heredity. It is sth in the family, but mine was earlier than my dad.
I would say that the hair problem had "escalated" to a different level. Ever since stopping the drug for about a year, the growing phase (of the hair) had suffered significantly. It does sth to your hormone and you would not know what the long term side-effects. A couple of friends like to poke at me, and i know that they mean no harm. Jo sent me a sms on CNY - besides the usual greetings, she was surprised that i still had hair at age 35! (after seeing my posting), while Su Hock persistently encouraged me to join ranks with him - so much so that he invited me on Friday to go for hair cut together. For the record, he had shaved completely, and that was since last yr!
I guess the next question for me is to keep the "crown" for how long. I dun like the idea of comb-over, especially it does not help with my hair being greasy and i perspired heavily. So, short hair would be neat, but bare. After about ten years of treatment (after graduation), i had somehow grown use to the fact that none of the proven medical avenues could help - not minoxidil nor propecia, and the "prospect" of becoming buddies with Zizou grown everyday. Many suggested hair centres like yunnan, but i never believe them.
Nevertheless, I am still trying to find a solution - not for reversing the trend, but rather to make hair less greasy. Maybe it is due to the genes, so only some breakthrough stem cell research could help. Perhaps, I should drop Philip Yeo an email to appeal for more emphasis from A*Star on hairloss (and not head injury which the A/P had advocated) research.
Any comments on this topic are most welcome, and dun forget to leave your name.
Hey Gor,
I am using Propecia. Kind of worked for me. Not growing much but some how the existing hair becomes thicker.
One side effect is a bigger hip. Sigh. I also dunno what to do next...
Don't go Yunnan is a right decision. Don't even give it a second thought. During uni days, went for a series of sessions and stopped. Nothing seemed to grow but a big hole in my pocket.
What is more irritating is some hair is growing in my ear. Geee... I feel like monster.
