I belong to the High-Income group!!!
Just checked my EFile of income tax that I had made a total donation of $750 for the whole of 2006, to charity organisations such as Renci Hospital, Salvation Army, Dover Park Hospice, etc. This would be sth which I would try to emulate this year.
If you can recall that SM Goh Chok Tong had in February urged the rich and wealthy to donate 0.5% of their income to charity cause. Looking at the number, if $750 was 0.5% of my gross income, that would mean i earned $150,000 last year, i.e. monthly salary of $10,000 (incl. 13th mth, and maybe... 2mths bonus)!!! Maybe, hit syper-scale liow!
Wonder when would i reach that amt, maybe another 10 yr also not enuf. But at least, based on SM's yardstick, I had out-performed those genuine ones at least...
