Interesting remark
Yesterday, we had lunch with my in-laws at the Park Royal Hotel - a fav of us, not just because of its close proximity, but also for its good value for money (esp with UOB card).
Sitting opposite us was another family - parents, two sisters with their spouses, and the elder with her young children. The older child is slightly older than ours, while the younger probably one plus.
After meal, on way back, missus asked me " i wondered how the mother maintains her good look, looking radiant". She was wondering surely having two kids would take her toll, and added to the fact that we din see any maid was with this young family.
I gave a thot. Here are some possible answers:
1. Maybe they are living with the husband family, and the maid is at home.
2. Maybe the maid is on her day off.
3. Maybe they dun have a maid, and their situation is the same as ours, and the family and work environment are so favourable that taking care of her children are the only taxing task.
4. Maybe the husband is so well off, that she does not have to work, and they have a maid.
5. Maybe the children are so obedient, not fussy with food and sleep early.
Countless of possibilities. But by looking at others, inevitably you cun help but compare yourself with others, and that's why she somehow had come to the fact that she would be a huang lian po. Not a comment which I would be proud of, as I have a hand in it.
I have to admit that i had also developed the habit of looking at other families who are of the similar "configuration". How you fare with other parents, and how their kids with mine. Though I have not recorded any "score" for the previous match-up, i dun think we have fared highly.
Which explained why i am still not giving up with my ToTo dream. If strike big time, then missus does not have to work, maybe i can take a break, we could get the domestic helper to come in more often than the once a week thing.
At this point, that remains the best bet...
